POSH POLICY

Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Policy

Introduction

At Samar Global High School, we are deeply committed to upholding a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment. Our Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Policy is designed to safeguard the dignity of every staff member and eliminate any form of sexual harassment in the workplace.

The policy aims to:

  • Raise awareness
  •  Encourage respectful behavior 
  • Provide a clear, confidential process for reporting and addressing complaints

Scope

This policy applies to all individuals working at or associated with Samar Global High School, including:

  • Permanent employees 
  • Contractual staff
  • Interns and trainees
  • Visiting professionals and consultants
  • Temporary, ad-hoc, or third-party personnel on school premises

Objectives

Our POSH policy seeks to:

  • Clearly define sexual harassment and promote awareness
  • Prohibit, prevent, and redress any such incidents at the workplace 
  • Provide protection and support to affected individuals 
  • Outline a fair and confidential grievance process 
  • Foster a culture of mutual respect and zero tolerance for harassment

Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

In compliance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, the school has established an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC).

Committee Members

  • One member from the Advisory Board 
  • One external member (from an NGO or with relevant experience) 
  • Two Administrative Representatives

Note: At least 50% of the committee members are women.

A dedicated Email ID — support_posh@samarglobalhighschool.com — is available for submitting complaints directly to the ICC. This email is accessible only by authorized ICC members to ensure strict confidentiality.

Complaint Procedure & Timelines

All complaints will be handled with sensitivity, neutrality, and confidentiality, and within the following timeframes:

Action Timeline

Complaint Submission – Within 3 months of the incident

Notice to Respondent – Within 7 days of receiving complaint

Completion of Inquiry -Within 90 days

Submission of ICC Report – Within 10 days of completing inquiry

Implementation of Action – Within 60 days

Appeal (if required) – Within 90 days of recommendation
